Introducing: Ample Sample Chunky Scarf

4:00:00 PM

There's just something about a chunky scarf. It's quick to make since the yarn is so thick and it's so comfortable to wear. It's like being wrapped in a warm hug. I'd definitely be wearing my Ample Sample Chunky Scarf right now (made it in the Charcoal shade for myself) if it wasn't for the weather being 70 degrees here in Philly. Don't get me wrong, it's really nice and I certainly prefer it over being knee-deep in snow, but I'm finding it quite difficult to get into the holiday spirit because of it.

Ample Sample Chunky Scarf wrapped around neck two times

The Ample Sample Chunky Scarf is a sampler scarf that is composed of panels or "blocks" each containing one of three distinct patterns (a block of Stockinette stitch, a block featuring a raised rib and a block of moss or seed stitch). These blocks, when repeated, make up the design. The entire scarf is actually seamless, despite its appearance. This project is suitable for even a beginner to tackle and you just have to have a knowledge of knit and purl stitches in order to make it.

So much texture!

The scarf knits up quickly when made from bulky and super bulky weight yarns. I used just one skein of Lion Brand Yarns Wool- Ease Thick & Quick in the shade Linen to make the scarf in the photos. You will get a scarf that wraps around your neck two times if you use the entire skein. If you wish to make the scarf longer you will definitely need more yarn.

The Ample Sample Chunky Scarf pattern is available on Ravelry here.

Happy knitting (and crocheting)! :)
