Introducing: A Shroud for Lily Shawl

9:23:00 PM

Boo! My favorite time of the year is almost here. That's right, Halloween is upon us again and as usual I have another spooky themed design out. Well, it's really not frightening at all but it is was inspired by the 60's sitcom The Munsters, more specifically Lily Munster's fabulous coffin lined cape. :)

A Shroud for Lily is a Garter stitch shawl or wrap which has an edge of ruched chevrons resembling coffin lining. It also has a section of lovely vertical lace. The piece is totally customizable and you can make it as tall as you like, add more of the "coffin lining" design and/or less Garter stitch. Just be aware that you may need to buy more yarn.

And speaking of yarn... swoon! I used two skeins of Swanky by Nerd Girl Yarns in the colorway Abnegation.  I can't say enough good things about this gorgeous and luxurious yarn (their entire company in fact is absolutely amazing). It's hand dyed and composed of 50% Superwash Merino and 50% Silk. It's smooth, soft, has a nice sheen to it and drapes wonderfully. This yarn will add a touch of elegance and sophistication to anything you make with it. You can view and purchase all their lovely yarn bases and colorways here.

A Shroud for Lily is available on Ravelry here.

For those who celebrate... have a safe and fun Halloween!

Happy knitting (and crocheting) everyone!
