Stashbuster Pattern: An Ounce of Flounce
2:17:00 PMThe stripes, which differ in width for a more modern look, can be made with those small balls of yarn left in your stash. The more color the merrier is what I always say. ;) You can of course make this scarf in a solid one too and it certainly won't look boring because of the different textures and ruffles in the design.
The ruffles are knit first with the rest of the scarf following it. There's no need to knit a separate edging to be attached later. Whew! I don't know about you but I'll take anything that makes my life a bit easier.
I used Malabrigo Arroyo yarn in the colorways Pocion and Reflecting Pool for the scarf shown in the photos. I know it's a lot of color all at once but somehow it works. This yarn is incredibly rich in color, super soft and a true pleasure to work with.
The pattern can be found here.
Stay tuned for another stashbusting quickie project to be revealed later on in the week... :)
