A Pattern Revamped: Tommy Gun Shawl

As followers of this blog may know, I've recently started taking a hard look at some of the patterns that I've put out last year and am reworking or revamping the ones that I'm least satisfied with for whatever reason. The Tommy Gun Shawl is one of them.

This time around I made the shawl in Garter stitch instead of having the eyelets rest on a Stockinette stitch background. As a result, there is no opportunity for the piece to curl as you're knitting it which also eliminates the need for blocking afterwards. Yay!

I also made a different yarn choice to better show off the design as well as the inherent beauty of the yarn. I used Dream in Color Smooshy yarn in the colorway Dusky Aurora. The minimalist design really lets the gorgeous colors in handpainted or hand dyed yarns like the ones made by Dream in Color shine.

The pattern is available here.
