NEW Albatross Cowl to Kick Off National Crochet Month

I'm so excited about March being National Crochet Month that I felt inspired to take a break from my recent knitting pattern kick and design a crochet cowl instead. Cowls are great because they stay put around your neck while keeping you warm and stylish. I don't know about you but I've had my share of lost scarves over the years. Once you go cowl, you never go back... at least in my case.

This cowl, which I named the Albatross Cowl, is made with a couple of different yarns of different weights. The bottom ribbed edge of the cowl is made from DK weight yarn which helps to anchor the cowl and stay in place. The rest of the cowl is made from lighter Fingering weight yarn to give it a more airy, lacy and mesh appearance.

This cowl is great because you can use up scraps of yarn from your stash to make it with. Have fun experimenting with stripes or variegated colorways. It's also very comfortable to wear and you can wear it with virtually anything.

Happy hooking! ;)
